What is a CFD?
Contracts for differences ("cfds") products were developed to allow customers to enjoy all the benefits of holding a stock, index, ETF, forex, option or commodity position without having to physically own the underlying instrument. A customer enters into a CFD at a quoted price, the difference between that price and the price of the CFD when the position is closed is settled in cash, hence the term "contract for difference" or CFD.
What are the benefits of trading cfds?
Cfds have grown in popularity over the past few years and it is arguably becoming the preferred way to trade the financial markets. Some of the trading benefits of cfds include no exchange charges and no stamp duty. Many of the inefficiencies of trading the underlying shares on an exchange are eliminated. The costs and delays of physical delivery of the shares, their registration and any holding or safe custody charges made by a broker are all avoided. The other major benefit of trading cfds is that customers can trade using leverage on margin. Cfds trading means customers can trade a portfolio of shares, indices or commodities without having to tie up large amounts of capital. Moreover, any financial entitlements, such as dividends, are adjusted for in cash, directly to your account. However, any voting rights available to the holder of an equity share are not available to the holder of an equivalent CFD.
What are the risks involved in trading cfds?
There are a number of risks involved in trading cfds. These risks may lead to unfavourable financial outcomes for you. Monitoring of all risks associated with your trading is your responsibility.

You should familiarise yourself with the following definitions:
How do I open a position?
To open a position, go to the “trade” screen on the plus500 platform, choose the instrument you wish to trade on, click buy/sell
How do I close a position?
To close a position, click on the “close position” button on the main screen or in the “open positions” tab. What is an order?
An order is a request to open a position at a specific rate (price). New positions cannot be opened outside the instrument's trading hours, however, you can open future orders. To open an order, click on “advanced” in the position screen (when using the windows and web trader) → check “only buy (or sell) when rate is” → set the required rate (price) → click buy/sell. The order will automatically open a position once the requested rate is reached or surpassed - the order is not guaranteed as the rate (price) can change by more than 1 pip at a time. Real orders will expire in 90 days if a position has not been opened (30 days for demo orders).
What can cause the closure of my position?
Positions can be closed by any of the following: margin call, execution of a predefined stop order, expiry* or manual closure. You can find the specific reason in the “closed positions” tab, under “close reason”.
What kind of stop orders do you offer?
You can use 4 types of “stop orders”:
What is a “close at loss order” (or stop loss order)?
This feature allows you to set a specific rate (price) at which your position will close, in case the price moves against you, in order to minimise your loss. Once this rate is reached or passed (as sometimes the price can ‘gap’ and move past the designated level), the stop order will be triggered and your position will be automatically closed. This feature is free of charge.
There is no guarantee your position will close at the exact price level you have specified, because of ‘slippage’. Slippage can occur due to volatile price movements. When the market reaches or surpasses the specific price you set for the position to close, the position will close at the next available price.

Scalping, its meaning and brokers that allow it
In this article, we will analyze the phenomenon known as scalping. But before going into detail, it is good to remember that trading consists of buying and selling stocks while online trading expands this concept to include online transactions.
The figure of the scalper is that of a certain trader intent on making trades continuously and is almost associated with that of a speculator. Sometimes, it is possible to confuse the concept of scalping with that of an intraday trader.
The meaning of scalping
Scalping is a very intensive method of carrying rapid speculation out on financial markets. This is a fairly simple basic system and consists of initiating a large number of low-risk operations in a very short time.
As you can understand, scalping is a very particular investment practice that is different from other types of standard analysis. Scalping techniques do not require great ability to predict the market for a long time or even to keep their transactions open for several hours.
The objective and mentality of those who venture into scalping are attributable to a hit-and-run system. These traders do not particularly change earning large or small amounts of money and do not care about the performance of securities. Their purpose is simply to point an action, get an immediate gain and then move on to the next.
The figure of the scalper is often seen with distrust from the rest of the trading sector as they are, in fact, able to interpret the market in a few seconds and exploit it at will.
To do scalping or invest in a traditional way?
The difference between those who invest through scalping and technical analysts relies on the fact that the scalper tends to not hold a particular account to the graphical analysis.
This, in fact, is able to anticipate the market trend simply by observing the book. In this way, possible incomes will practically have zero risks. A technical analyst, on the other hand, argues that this technique is not so efficient, but that it allows the scalper to get only the leftovers of other traders.
The different trading modes do not give us an absolute view on which of the two is better. Every investor moves in his own way and anyone who can make a stock transaction will be forced to go through the observation of the book.
Also the term scalping in itself, recalls the word and the sense of scalping, that is to say of being able to make a profit in a very short time.
The figure of the scalper is a trader able to remain always attentive to small immediate variations and knows how to wait for the right moment to be able to act.
All this while always managing to minimize the level of risk. The ability to remain objective and indifferent even in the face of losses is not so common and it is easy for traders to be overwhelmed by factors that lead to error, thus losing large amounts of money.
Who decides to do scalping?
The phenomenon of scalpers has led many brokers to become interested.
Those who are intent on scalping, in fact, carrying out a large number of transactions, will be forced to pay a large number of commissions to various financial brokers.
Many of these have also prompted several investors to launch into scalping, sometimes leading them to bankruptcy.
This technique allows ignoring every financial trend and focusing almost exclusively on the analysis of the books. It is fundamental to analyze live a book, observing its trend without worrying about external factors.
For the scalpers, the financial market is a means that travels quickly, of which it is not always easy to understand the right direction.
Given its speed of execution, the immediate gain and the need not know in depth the financial environment, many ventures into this process.
This technique can, in fact, be used at will, without having to wait for precise periods or times, but simply observing a certain book. If this is particularly unreliable, the scalpers will be led to ignore that stock, also avoiding possible unwanted losses.
Some traders use scalping processes to further strengthen their technical and fundamental analyses and market investments, thus implementing different analysis methodologies at the same time.
Forex scalping
Forex is generally the most used field for scalping as it generally allows you to operate with higher leverage than that applied to other instruments and then you can open positions with lower initial margins.
Leverage increases the potential of the invested capital, while currency exchange can offer significant changes at certain times. The combination of the two elements creates favorable conditions for forex scalping.
Scalping plus500, can you do it?
Plus500 does not allow you to do scalping but specifies to its users that it considers scalping a closing operation within 2 minutes of its opening. For this reason, we recommend that you follow the user agreement available on the official plus500 website (user agreement).
If you’re interested in plus500, you can also read our complete and free plus500 trading tutorial.
What is the maintenance margin?
The maintenance margin level is the amount of equity a customer needs to maintain in order to keep a position open. To view the maintenance margin requirement for a specific instrument, go to the main screen of the plus500 trading platform, select the financial instrument and click on the “details” link next to it.
Insufficient funds to meet the maintenance margin requirement will result in the closure of some or all of your positions. For more information, please read: “what is a margin call?”.

Plus500 scalping
Plus500 scalping toegestaan?
Hey collega’s.
Verder hele goede broker.

Scalping is strictly prohibited at plus500, as stated at clause 24.1.7 of our user agreement – you will not enter into any transaction for the purposes of arbitrage, scalping or to exploit any temporal and/or minor inaccuracy in any rate or price offered on the trading platform;
Any trader suspected in using such a trading method or any other foul use of our platform will have his trading account immediately terminated and all, if any, positions will be made void.
Please note that scalping definition does not consist of an exact position time.
In essence, scalping is a trading ethic/technique where most of the trader’s gains are produced from short term positions (2, 3, 5 or even 7 minutes sometimes are just examples that could characterize scalping, but it could even be longer positions at some instances).
1. A scalper is almost always aware of what he’s doing and
2. Rest assured our management officials are skilled and trained well enough for differentiating the scalpers from the one that are not.

Misschien anders eens markets.

Tenzij me account geblokkeerd word.

Can I be in debt to you? / can my account go into a negative balance?
Customers cannot lose more than the funds they have on their account. The “margin call” feature exists in order to prevent your account from having a negative balance. For more information please read “what is a margin call?”
How do I calculate my margin requirements?
Initial margin = (position's opening price*size of the trade)*initial margin percentage.
For example, let’s suppose you buy 30 facebook stocks cfds for $75 each (a "buy" position), then the value of the position would be 30*75=$2250. If the initial margin percentage were 20%, then the required initial margin would be 20%*2250=$450.
Do you offer a notifications service?

You can receive notifications and alerts each time you open/close a position, when an instrument reaches a specific rate (price), prior to a margin call, etc. Using this service, you gain a certain degree of control over your trading account, even when you are logged out of the trading platform.
